This is a collection of some 3D works I've produced in recent years, many of them are explorations of environment design, while some are style frames developed for short films. Feel free to scroll through the images below. Included on the adjacent pages are some projects and tutorials I have worked on in the past couple years.

This reel is a collection of projects produced in production settings as well as some personal projects.
This is a solo short film that I created in 2023. This project was my first major project in dramatic storytelling through animation, and I enjoyed the process of creating my own mini production pipeline in creating this short. I learned Adobe's Substance Painter for some of the textures in this project which was a really great learning experience. I also enjoyed learning Ableton Live for making the music for this film.

I created this using reference imagery of Waikiki in Honolulu. I enjoyed the process of developing the buildings to be as accurate to real life as possible.

I sculpted and modeled this terrain based off of 2d concept art by a fellow club member for a club project, I used a model of Spirit from Nasa to fill the scene. I found this to be a really fun exploration of environmental lighting.

Created as a piece of concept art for the short film "Beached Glass" that we were working on in animation club. This piece was really fun to make, I enjoyed trying to solve the difficult challenge of getting pleasing indoor lighting.

I made this piece as an exploration of character design. I blocked out the creature using box-modeling and then refined the creature using Blender's sculpting tools. There is also procedural displacement giving the creature extra surface details.

I made this piece in conjunction with a plugin that I wrote to use in Blender (Billboard Orientation Solver) that I talk about in the coding project page. The trees are flat images scattered on a terrain object.

I've admired the speed that some digital artists are able to create massive complex scenes through the use of asset kits. I thought about utilizing these kits in my own workflow, but I quickly discovered that many kits are prohibitively expensive, far out of my reach. During this recent October I resolved to create my own asset kit of a modern city, and I spent each weekend modeling real buildings in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto using Google Earth/Street View for reference. By the end of October I had modeled about 78 low density buildings, 12 medium density buildings, and 8 high rises. This is a clay render of the buildings arranged rather quickly.

This is a background I made for my short film TUG. This scene was really fun to develop, I enjoyed the process of trying to convey a specific mood from just the lighting.

I used NASA's free PBR textures of the Moon to create this little scene of the Apollo Orbiter. I modeled the Orbiter based off publicly available NASA blueprints and textured the capsule in Substance Painter.
